SASSA has requested SRD R350 grant beneficiaries to ensure that the cell phone number they used when applying for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant if they choose to be paid through cardless banking at an ATM.

If they choose to be paid through their bank accounts they must ensure that the bank account provided is registered in their name. This will assist the client to withdraw their grant with ease from merchants as till PINS are sent to cellphone numbers provided when applying.



You will need to following documents to get your SIM card registered before applying for the SRD grant:

  • Your full Name and Surname
  • Your South African ID book
  • Your Cellphone number or starterpack number
  • Proof of residential or employment address, such as a current utility bill or a recent bank statement or other acceptable document.
