Book an appointment with Zimbabwe Consulate’s online booking platform in Johannesburg and Cape Town for Birth Certificate and Passport application services. The appointments are not transferrable. Service will only be provided to the individual whose name has been confirmed for the appointment.

Accompanied children are required to have individual appointments too. (Parents or legal guardians are therefore advised to separately reserve bookings for minors requiring services.
Printed confirmation of appointment should be presented at the
Consulate Security Checkpoint in order to be granted passage into the premises. Electronic confirmations will not be considered.
Clients are strongly advised to adhere to the allocated time given the need to manage the number of people within the Consulate premises at any given time.
Try your booking on Wednesdays at 16:00. This booking platform will open for new weekly bookings every Wednesday at 1600hrs.

Zimbabwe Consulate passport application Requirements

Each original document must be accompanied by a photocopy. It is not necessary to certify the photocopies. The following are required:



  • Birth certificate (Long Birth Certificate)
  • ID – For all applicants above 16 years your application must be accompanied by an ID. The ID could be the plastic, metal or Paper one. Please note without an ID no application will be processed. If you want to get a new ID you must first travel to Zimbabwe as it is currently not possible to apply for a new ID within South Africa.
  • Marriage certificate – If you are married and got a marriage certificate please take it with you.
  • ID in marriage name – Most of the times women assume the surname of their husbands on marriage. If you are married your ID must show the married name
  • Divorce order If your marriage was registered and you later on got divorced you will need a divorce order issued by a competent court showing dissolution of the union.
  • 2 colour passport size photos strictly on white background, (size 3,5 x 4,5cm) Your pictures must be clear.
  • Current passport if available
  • Children below the age of 18 years: it is a mandatory requirement that the father or mother or legal guardian should complete Section 5 of the passport application form and the child’s birth certificate is required. The child must also be present for finger prints. The child’s old passport ( where applicable) is also required.
  • In cases where the child has a legal guardian, the legal guardian should provide a Guardianship Certificate, which can be obtained from the Courts of Law.

The Fees for Passport form and admin : R300 payable in cash at the Consulate.

How to book an appointment with Zimbabwe Consulate South Africa

  1. Log on to the Zimbabwe Consulate appointment booking website : https://www.zimbabweconsulate.co.za/appointment for Johannesburg or  Cape Town: https://www.zimconsulatecpt.co.za/
  2. You will need a valid email address and phone number
  3. Click on ‘Create a new user account’
  4. Enter your Name, Email address, password and Phone number
  5. Select a time slot for your booking on the calendar which appears
  6. A box will pop up with your name already completed
  7. Add your phone number, Date of birth and ID if you have
  8. Click on create
  9. Check your email for confirmation.
  10. Confirm and you will receive your booking on your email address

Please note that the consulate does not submit passport or Birth Certificate application forms on behalf of applicants.
If an applicant cannot travel to Zimbabwe, s/he can authorise someone in Zimbabwe to submit and collect the passport on their behalf.
