To access the funds, the recipient needs to have a Shoprite Money Market Account, available for free via the Shoprite app, USSD (*120*3534#) or WhatsApp (087 240 5709). Recipients can then use the funds to buy electricity, airtime, data, purchase goods and services in-store via the Money Market Account, or they can even send it on to someone else.

You can use your phone or your linked Xtra Savings card to withdraw cash from your cash account in-store.

You can only withdraw cash from your cash account. Vouchers cannot be withdrawn as cash.

How to withdraw money from Shoprite Money Market Account using your Phone

You can sign in to your Money Market Account on any of the below channels to withdraw cash in-store, the process is the same:

    • USSD – dial *120*3534#
    • WhatsApp:
      • Shoprite: 087 240 5709
      • Checkers: 087 240 5385

• • Sign in to your account,
  • Tell the Cashier you would like to withdraw cash from your Money Market Account using your phone,
  • Select “WITHDRAW CASH” on your phone,
  • Enter the amount you would like to withdraw (on your phone),
  • Enter the 8-digit token number onto the card machine to complete the transaction.
    

How to withdraw money from Shoprite Money Market Account using your Phone

• • Make sure that your card is linked to your account,
  • Tell the Cashier that you would like to withdraw cash from your Money Market Account using your Xtra Savings card,
  • Swipe your Xtra Savings card on the card machine,
  • Select “CASH”,
  • Give the cash to the Cashier,
  • Enter your 5-digit Money Market Account PIN on the card machine to complete the transaction.
