For TVET College students, accommodation allowances are differentiated based on residence location. Those in metro areas occupying catered residences are entitled to R60,000 per annum, while those in other areas have a capped allowance of R51,000 annually. Learning material allowances, encompassed within tuition costs, are provided as part of NSFAS assistance.

TVET College students have the option to qualify for either a travel allowance or an accommodation allowance. However, students enrolled in occupational qualifications, who possess an employment contract and receive a stipend, do not qualify for NSFAS allowances, especially those engaged in simulated training.

Students with disabilities may receive an assistive device allowance of R50,000 once-off, complemented by NSFAS funding for repairs and maintenance amounting to R2,000 per year. It is crucial to note that students with disabilities are not automatically eligible for these allowances; approval is contingent upon meeting specified criteria and conditions outlined in the policy standard.

TVET College students pursuing occupational qualifications may be eligible for allowances, provided they engage in simulated training. Conversely, students with an employment contract and stipend receipt are not eligible for NSFAS allowances.

Notably, the learning material allowance for TVET College students is seamlessly integrated into the overall tuition cost, simplifying the financial assistance process.
