SASSA uses strict bank verification method to confirm that the details of the beneficiary and the account holder match. This means you have to use a bank account which is in your name. If you have changed your bank details or updated your bank details, it takes about 7 to 10 working days for SASSA to verify the bank details.

1. Visit the website https://srd.sassa.gov.za
2. Scroll down to where you are asked to update banking details.
3. Enter your ID number that was used to submit the application
4. An SMS notification message sent to your phone number used to apply
5. Click on the link inside the SMS
6. Click on the Current Payment Option
7. Check the verification tab, either verified or pending.
